Finance Department
The Finance Department provides accounting services for the organization and its clients and supports trust and client banking activities. This part-time, on-site position works from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and reports to the Finance Manager.

Job Description
The Finance Department is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Clerk to support trust accounting, client banking, reconciliations, and related financial operations. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, comfortable working with financial information, and able to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Submit daily deposits for multiple trust accounts using remote deposit scanning and retrieve lockbox deposit information through bank websites.
- Monitor trust and client bank account balances and activity, identify incoming credits and debits, and communicate relevant information to internal departments.
- Initiate recurring transfers for premium payments and assist with ACH transactions, wire transfers, and other online banking activities, as authorized.
- Prepare and issue authorized weekly checks from designated trust accounts; maintain check registers and process approved stop-payment requests.
- Research and help resolve positive pay exceptions, rejected deposit items, stale-dated checks, and other banking discrepancies.
- Prepare weekly disability payment reports for employers and related IRS funding requirements.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and assist with trust account maintenance, cash activity statements, and timely resolution of outstanding reconciling items.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, journal-entry support, audit documentation, and other accounting tasks.
- Maintain accurate spreadsheets, financial records, banking documentation, and supporting files for trust and corporate accounting activities.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments, external clients, and banking partners to research and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Cross-train with the other team members and provide backup support for assigned banking and cash-management functions.
- Provide general clerical support, including filing, printing, sorting, scanning, and organizing financial documents.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- One to two years of accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or related office experience preferred.
- Experience in third-party administration, employee benefit plans, or health insurance is preferred but not required.
Required Qualification/Skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, organization, and commitment to maintaining complete financial and customer records.
- Basic knowledge of banking and accounting processes, including deposits, transfers, checks, and reconciliations.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow established controls and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and service-oriented approach.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with sound judgment, integrity, and discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; ability to maintain and work with accounting spreadsheets.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, QuickBooks, or a similar accounting/ERP system is a plus.
- Accurate ten-key and typing skills.
