This position is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the company by managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and assisting in general ledger reconciliations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, process, and verify invoices for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor files and records.
- Assist with preparation of AP reports and month-end close activities.
- Generate and send customer invoices.
- Apply customer payments to appropriate accounts.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables and manage collection efforts.
- Reconcile AR accounts and investigate any payment discrepancies.
- Provide AR aging reports and support month-end close.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for accruals and variances.
- Perform month-end account closing activities and reconciliations.
- Generate and distribute account management reports on monthly basis.
- Perform accounting analysis for cash accruals, account payables, account receivables, and reconciliations.
- Assist with credit card statement reconciliations, gl coding and uploads.
- Participate in and assist with monthly store and shop inventory reconciliation processes, ensuring accurate recording of inventory transactions, identifying discrepancies, and working with Operations to resolve variances.
- Provide appropriate accounting information to clients/vendors when needed.
- Assist various departments in accounting issues and queries.
- Follow documentation retention policy to maintain accounting files.
- Performs other special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters/Bachelor/Associate Accounting Degree preferred.
- 2+ years related experience preferred.
- Multiple systems & Excel knowledge—the individual needs to be able to work in multiple systems at one time and be proficient in Excel.
- High degree of integrity required.
- Highly organized and able to work independently with little direction.
- Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to adapt to changing prioritization and last-minute adjustments.
- Trucking industry knowledge or experience is beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional on-site office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, camera, and fax machines.
