The Office of the Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts serve the citizens of Fulton County by maintaining and providing access to court and public records and by supporting court operations across Superior and Magistrate Courts. The office plays a critical role in the administration of justice and public trust, supporting judges, justice partners, attorneys, and the public through accurate recordkeeping, responsive service, and operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Accountant Associate performs a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial support functions in support of court and departmental operations. This position is responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and providing customer service related to court-related financial matters.

The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work within automated financial systems while ensuring compliance with County policies and governmental accounting standards.

Performance Aptitudes:

Data Utilization: Requires the ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data. Includes exercising discretion in determining data classification, and in referencing such analysis to established standards for the purpose of recognizing actual or probable interactive effects and relationships.

Human Interaction: Requires the ability to work with and apply principles of persuasion and/or influence over others to coordinate programs or activities of a project, and resolve typical problems associated with the responsibilities of the job.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office-like environment. May work in high conflict situations and with difficult, sometimes dangerous parties.  Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, fingering, lifting, and carrying. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience based on the submitted application. If selected, an official accredited college transcript will be required at the time of employment for all degrees or coursework used to qualify for this position.
