Accounting Assistant - Full Time!

Operational since 2001, Dakota Ethanol in Wentworth, SD produces more than 90 million gallons of ethanol annually. The company also produces distillers grains and non-food grade corn oil, providing a feed source for local livestock producers or the biodiesel industry. Dakota Ethanol is owned and operated by Lake Area Corn Processors, LLC, which is comprised of more than 1,000 members, the majority of whom are South Dakota farmers. What you get to do!

Accounting Assistant is responsible for daily accounting and administrative activities; managing the office reception area  

• Serve as the welcoming face of the company, answering incoming calls and greeting visitors
• File workpapers, organize office, maintain office supply inventory, process mail
• Provide administrative support to managers as needed
• Maintain schedules of management to facilitate communications
• Complete all tasks assigned by management
• Coordinate document imaging management
• Enter accounts payable vouchers and review for accuracy
• Assist with payroll and human resources administration
• Maintain a team environment with other departments
• Work in an honest and ethical manner, maintaining confidentiality on all business-related matters
• Safe work practices are a condition of employment
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance
• Demonstrate a cooperative attitude and work cohesively within a team environment
• Thrives under pressure and meets tight deadlines
• Flexibly navigate evolving workflows while efficiently executing newly assigned tasks
• Meet the physical demands of the role, including climbing stairs and safely lifting up to 50 pounds
• Champion Dakota Ethanol in the community

What you need to have!

• Associates Degree or higher in accounting or related field preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette
• Proven experience with accounting workflows and procedures
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Must have basic knowledge of office equipment
