- Maintain accurate records of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and capitalizations in the corresponding ERP systems for both Corporate and Statutory purposes.
- Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies, free zone regulations, and J-SOX requirements.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly capital expenditure reports.
- Collaborate with project owners to monitor budgets and address variances.
- Record transactions in statutory and corporate subledgers.
- Reconcile discrepancies.
- Run and validate monthly depreciation calculations for Corporate and Statutory.
- Manage the Costa Rica fixed asset subledger and construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts.
- Lead or support periodic physical inventories of fixed assets.
- Prepare and submit fixed asset data for PROCOMER reports and audits.
- Actively participate in the month end close.
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to fixed assets.
- Coordinate asset transfers with corporate teams.
- Support audit processes for fixed assets, including PROCOMER compliance audit.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field of study and active CPI or CPA.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in managing CapEx budgets, project tracking, and fixed asset accounting, ideally in a multinational or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting with a focus on free zone regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in project management and ability to adapt to various ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and Costa Rican tax legislation, including PROCOMER compliance.
- High accuracy and attention to detail in financial processes and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.), Power BI, and familiarity with ERP systems like SAP.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and international accounting standards, with minimum of two (2) years of experience in fixed asset accounting or related financial processes.
- Proven ability in financial analysis, forecasting, multitasking, and managing multiple projects under pressure.
- High degree of accuracy in working with large amounts of data.
- Responsibility for timelines of work completion and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
