Job Opportunity: Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team in Almaty, Kazakhstan. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare and process month-end and year-end closing entries
• Develop and maintain financial reports and statements
• Reconcile bank statements and perform account analyses
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting standards
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software (SAP preferred)
• Familiarity with Kazakhstani accounting standards and regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English and Russian; knowledge of Kazakh is a plus
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred
• Experience with month-end closing processes
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
