Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge in general ledger accounting;month-end closing and financial report preparation; computer skills including advanced use of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; internal control processes; problem solving and root cause analysis; and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 

Nucor Steel West Virginia's is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. 

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., Nucor Steel West Virginia will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future. 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Accounting or related field and 1 year relevant experience in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Two or more years of experience in Accounting of Finance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, or financial reporting
