POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Employee Wellness Coordinator develops, coordinates, promotes, and evaluates the District’s employee wellness program. The position is responsible for creating a comprehensive wellness program aligned with the school-year calendar, increasing employee awareness and utilization of available health and wellness resources, and developing targeted initiatives that support the physical, mental, and overall well-being of District employees. |

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Wellness Program Development and Coordination • Develop and maintain an annual employee wellness calendar aligned with the District’s school year. • Plan, coordinate, and implement District-wide wellness activities, campaigns, challenges, educational opportunities, and events. • Coordinate wellness initiatives with the Benefits Department, benefit providers, and wellness vendors to maximize available programs and resources. • Identify opportunities to integrate wellness initiatives with existing District activities and employee communications. • Coordinate wellness incentives, recognition programs, and other approved activities designed to encourage employee participation. • Assist with the appropriate administration and coordination of available wellness funds. Employee Engagement and Needs Assessment • Develop and administer employee surveys to identify wellness interests, priorities, barriers to participation, and preferred methods of engagement. • Review employee feedback and participation information to assist in developing future wellness initiatives. • Develop strategies to increase employee participation in wellness programs across schools and District departments. • Ensure wellness opportunities consider employees working in different job classifications, schedules, and District locations. • Solicit ongoing employee feedback regarding wellness programming and available resources. Health and Wellness Resource Awareness • Develop strategies to increase employee awareness, understanding, and appropriate utilization of existing health and wellness benefits and resources. • Promote available resources including Prosano, Teladoc, Hinge Health, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, Nurse Navigators, Participant Advocates, and other District-sponsored health and wellness resources. • Coordinate with benefit providers and vendors to develop educational materials, presentations, webinars, demonstrations, and other opportunities to educate employees regarding available services. • Develop targeted communications to help employees understand how and when available health and wellness resources may be utilized. Targeted Wellness Campaigns • Develop and coordinate targeted wellness campaigns based upon employee needs and available District resources. • Coordinate initiatives related to preventive care and recommended health screenings. • Develop educational and engagement opportunities related to chronic disease prevention and management. • Coordinate programs and resources supporting employee mental and emotional well-being. • Promote resources related to musculoskeletal health, injury prevention, and appropriate treatment options. • Develop wellness initiatives addressing physical activity, healthy lifestyle behaviors, stress management, resilience, and other identified employee wellness priorities. Wellness Champion Program • Develop, coordinate, and support a District-wide Wellness Champion program consisting of representatives from schools and District locations. • Recruit and support Wellness Champions who serve as wellness liaisons for their respective locations. • Establish expectations and responsibilities for Wellness Champions. • Provide Wellness Champions with information, promotional materials, and resources necessary to communicate and support District wellness initiatives. • Facilitate Wellness Champion meetings to communicate upcoming initiatives, gather feedback, share ideas, and identify opportunities to improve employee participation. • Encourage Wellness Champions to promote wellness activities through staff meetings and other site-level communication opportunities. • Maintain regular communication with Wellness Champions regarding upcoming activities, programs, and available resources. Wellness Events and Activities • Coordinate on-site wellness events including flu clinics, biometric screenings, mammography events, health fairs, educational sessions, and other preventive health activities. • Coordinate dates, locations, logistics, communications, and vendor participation for wellness events. • Work with schools and departments to identify appropriate locations and schedules for wellness activities. • Develop and coordinate employee wellness challenges and other engagement activities throughout the school year. • Coordinate approved incentives and recognition associated with wellness activities. • Promote participation in wellness screenings, challenges, educational opportunities, and other District wellness activities. Communications and Promotion • Develop and maintain a consistent communication strategy for the District employee wellness program. • Prepare wellness newsletters, announcements, promotional materials, emails, and other employee communications. • Develop targeted communications highlighting specific benefits, resources, wellness topics, and upcoming events. • Provide Wellness Champions and District locations with promotional materials and communication tools. • Develop periodic communications for wellness challenge participants that provide information, encouragement, and resources related to challenge topics. • Coordinate with appropriate District departments to promote wellness initiatives through existing employee communication channels. • Maintain current information regarding wellness activities and resources on applicable District communication platforms. Program Administration and Evaluation • Maintain records of wellness programs, events, communications, and participation. • Monitor participation in wellness programs, challenges, screenings, events, and benefit-related initiatives. • Compile employee feedback and participation information to assist in evaluating program effectiveness. • Prepare reports and summaries regarding wellness activities, participation, and employee feedback as requested. • Identify opportunities to improve wellness program communication, accessibility, participation, and effectiveness. • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling employee health, benefit, or wellness-related information. • Perform other duties as assigned. |

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require): • High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience coordinating wellness programs, employee benefits, employee engagement programs, health promotion activities, events, communications, or related programs preferred. • Experience working with benefit providers, healthcare organizations, wellness vendors, or employee assistance programs preferred. • Experience coordinating programs or initiatives across multiple locations preferred. • Experience in a school district, governmental agency, public-sector organization, or other large organization preferred. |

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position generally operates in a professional office and school environment. The employee may be required to travel between District schools and facilities to coordinate meetings, wellness activities, screenings, and other events. The position may occasionally require work outside normal business hours to support District wellness events or activities. The physical requirements described are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. • Sit or stand for extended periods. • Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, electronically, and in group settings. • Operate standard office equipment and technology. • Move throughout District schools, offices, and other facilities. • Occasionally lift, carry, move, or set up materials and supplies associated with wellness events and activities. • Perform other physical activities reasonably associated with the essential functions of the position. |
