About the Program:

The WRI Operations Department strives to make all global offices capable and low risk, enhancing their operational capabilities, establishing sustainable growth through a bond of mutual respect, collaboration and sharing knowledge across the sisterhood of WRI offices. This is done by targeting standards of performance, and measuring efficiency and effectiveness across all the offices.

Internship Highlight:

As a Business & Accounting Intern at WRI Europe, you will contribute directly to improving the efficiency and visibility of our accounting operations through automation initiatives, financial dashboard development, and process improvement projects. This internship will give you exposure to the intersection of accounting, technology, and organizational operations. You will report to the Regional Manager, Accounting and Finance.
You Will Be Able To Develop In Terms Of

• Professional Development: Gain practical experience working within an international accounting team and exposure to Workday
• Skills Building: Strengthen your analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and financial reporting skills
• Networking Opportunities: Collaborate with WRI experts and contribute to impactful initiatives.

What you will do:

Workday Adaptive Planning Dashboard (50%)

• Support building custom dashboard in Workday Adaptive Planning and related documentation
• Identify and document opportunities for process efficiency improvements across accounting operations

Daily Operational Tasks (30%)

• Assist with day-to-day accounting activities, including data validation and reconciliation
• Contribute to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes

Personal/Academic Development (20%)

Dedicate time to academic work or independent projects aligned with your learning objectives and internship goals

What you will need:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Interns at WRI Europe must be registered in a study program with a Dutch college or university for the full duration of the internship
• Interns must have established approval from their university to undertake an internship before applying
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Proficiency in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• A proactive and detail-oriented individual
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Interest in sustainable development and technology-driven solutions is a bonus.

Conditions of the internship:

• This is a 4-6 month internship starting on 21st September 2026.
• This internship will be based at the WRI Europe office in the Hague with some flexibility to work from home
• This internship offers a reimbursement of 700 euros per month based on full-time working hours (32 hours per week).
