Summary:
The VP, Accounting leads all accounting operations, financial reporting, and investment accounting for the organization, partnering closely with the CFO, treasury, and investment teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial accounting functions, including operational and investment accounting, and all month-end close activities.
- Ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting to the board, management, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial accounting policies; manage preparation for audits and regulatory examinations.
- Partner with the CFO on financial planning, forecasting, and complex financial analysis (e.g., cash flow modeling).
- Direct the annual budgeting process and monitor budget performance throughout the year.
- Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Support treasury and investment management functions, including cash positioning and investment accounting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master's a plus).
- 4-10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and finance-based functions.
- Experience in financial services strongly preferred.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Advanced Excel and financial/accounting software skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
