Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting

The College of Business, Leadership, and Ethics at Viterbo University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting. This is a full-time, visiting appointment begins August 2026, with the possibility of renewal or transition to a longer-term or full-time role contingent on institutional needs and performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student-centered teaching, applied learning, and the mission of Viterbo University, a Catholic, Franciscan institution. This position is on campus in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teaching 12 credit hours per semester in Undergraduate accounting courses include, but are not limited to:
  
  • financial accounting, intermediate accounting, cost accounting, accounting information
    systems, federal taxation, advanced accounting and auditing.
• Advising accounting majors and minors, mentoring students seeking internship and job placement,
  overseeing assessment for the accounting major, fostering relationships with aligned
  professional organizations, assisting with curriculum management.
• Collaborate with business faculty and community partners to support experiential learning opportunities.
• Participate in curriculum development and maintain active engagement with the finance profession.
• Engage in service to the department, college, and university.
• Participate in professional development, including scholarship.
• Experience or interest in developing courses in emerging areas of finance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A master's degree in accounting, business administration or related field
• 3+ years accounting experience and professional certification required
• Doctoral degree preferred
• College teaching experience perfered
