We're looking for a Vice President of Global Procurement in any of our major U.S. locations, preferably our headquarters. The Vice President of Global Procurement is a high-impact executive role responsible for the strategic leadership, transformation, and execution of the company’s global sourcing and procurement functions. This role oversees a complex portfolio including raw materials (castings, forgings, bar, pipe, tubing) and a diverse finished goods distribution business involving over 100 manufacturers.
At The Dixon Group, we value the contributions of our Military Veterans and proudly employ our nation’s heroes. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do:
- Global Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for raw materials and finished goods that balance cost, quality, and lead-time stability.
- High-Stakes Negotiation: Lead the negotiation of enterprise-level master service agreements (MSAs).
- Proactively renegotiate existing contracts to drive annual cost-reduction targets without sacrificing quality or supply security.
- Supplier Relationship & Performance Management (SRM): Manage a global base of 100+ manufacturers.
- Implement a rigorous "Supplier Scorecard" system to evaluate performance and hold vendors accountable for delivery and cost-out initiatives.
- Develop a Win/Win culture with our Strategic Partners.
- Organizational Leadership: Provide direct leadership to the HQ procurement team and functional oversight of decentralized buyers at satellite locations, ensuring a unified procurement strategy across the enterprise.
- Value Engineering & Cost Out: Partner with engineering and operations to identify "total cost of ownership" (TCO) reductions, such as material substitutions, logistics optimization, or volume consolidation.
- Risk Mitigation: Monitor global geopolitical trends, tariffs, and commodity market fluctuations (steel, alloys, etc.) to hedge against price volatility and supply disruptions.
- Global Travel: Conduct site visits, audits, and negotiations at domestic and international supplier locations (approx. 15–20% travel).
- Set clear performance expectations, development objectives and accountability standards for personnel.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
- Master’s Degree (MBA preferred)
- CPSM/CPCM certification preferred.
- 12+ years in procurement/supply chain, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing global operations.
- Strategic Negotiation: Mastery of advanced negotiation tactics. Ability to find "win-win" scenarios while remaining firm on corporate cost-saving objectives.
- Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of commodity markets, and the impact of procurement on the P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Global Cultural Competency: Experience navigating international business cultures, specifically in key manufacturing hubs (e.g., SE Asia, Europe, South America).
- Change Management: The ability to move a team from "reactive buying" to "proactive sourcing."
- Analytical Rigor: Proficient in using ERP data and BI tools to identify spend leakage and consolidation opportunities.
What We Offer:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family
- Competitive salary
- Bonus programs
- 401K retirement plan
- Training opportunities
- Tuition reimbursement
- Paid vacation, PTO, and holidays
- Gym reimbursements, and more!
