Role Purpose
The VP Finance and Accounting oversees Prosource’s financial health, planning, discipline, and performance. This role ensures that financial strategy and execution support sustainable growth, operational excellence, and sound decision-making across the business.
RequirementsLeadership Focus
The VP Finance and Accounting collaborates closely with finance and other leaders throughout the Prosource family of businesses. As a strategic and analytical leader, VP Finance and Accounting connects financial insights into business execution and guides decisions across departments and lines of business. The VP Finance and Accounting also leads the Prosource accounting and financial operations team, building a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role provides vital support to our Team and customers.

- Lead finance and accounting teams with a focus on fiscal responsibility, compliance, and strategic collaboration.
- Build scalable financial systems and automated processes that deliver actionable reporting, improving timeliness, visibility, agility, and decision-making across leadership.
- Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
Essential Activities and Responsibilities
- Lead financial performance, reporting, analysis, and guidance for Prosource.
- Partner with finance leaders across the Prosource family of businesses to ensure accounting and reporting consistency, deliver consolidated reporting, and leverage shared relationships and resources.
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support business growth.
- Turn financial insights into clear operational priorities across the organization.
- Oversee the cash cycle to improve working capital and ensure funding is available to support growth.
- Use industry benchmarks and best practices to define financial targets and partner with leaders on actions to achieve them.
2. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and develop finance and accounting team members to help drive company performance.
- Oversee accounting operations to ensure timely, accurate results that meet business needs and expectations.
- Foster a work environment that supports individual growth and continuous learning.
- Encourage new ideas from the team to build scalable processes, challenge the status quo, and improve operational efficiency.
3. Revenue and Profitability Management
- Oversee billing, contracts, collections, and third-party leasing to maximize profitable revenue.
- Partner with the sales team to identify opportunities, remove obstacles, and develop creative options that support profitable growth.
- Identify significant financial variances, diagnose root causes, and implement cost-reduction and operational-efficiency initiatives.
4. Planning, Forecasting, and Analysis
- Provide timely, accurate dashboards and financial reports with actionable insights that help leadership drive progress toward company goals.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting with department leaders, clarifying interdependencies and communicating related opportunities and risks.
5. Key Vendor Relationships
- Work with banking partners to optimize cash position and fully leverage treasury management services.
- Coordinate and manage business insurance coverage aligned with business needs, operational requirements, and risk tolerance.
- Prepare information for annual reviews and tax services in close partnership with the outside CPA firm.
- Manage relationships with third-party leasing partners to ensure customers are supported appropriately.
6. Acquisitions and Special Projects
- Partner with the CFO to evaluate acquisition and large customer opportunities.
- Drive efficiencies across all lines of business through shared services.
- Support other leadership with special projects as needed.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- 5+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in a high-growth distribution/services organization.
- Strong leader with proven ability to build, mentor, and motivate high-performing finance and accounting teams.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to turn financial insights into practical business actions.
- Proven success in financial strategy, analysis, and planning, with a record of improving profitability and operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of GAAP, tax law, and compliance standards, with experience in audits, risk management, and regulatory reporting.
- Actively adopts new technology solutions to improve operations and drive excellence.
- Excellent communicator with executive presence and the ability to influence decisions across the organization.
- Experience managing treasury functions to optimize cash flow.
- Advanced Excel and data visualization skills, including experience building financial dashboards and KPI frameworks for executive reporting.
- Excels in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities and ambitious growth goals.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive, strategic mindset
- Ambition and capacity to grow into a Chief Financial Officer role.
Preferred Experience
- CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
Compensation Method
Base salary plus quarterly bonus based on individual and company performance.
