Procurement Manager responsible for overseeing Procurement yards and operators and negotiating with vendors for the purchase of materials and services. Principal Responsibilities: •Oversees Yard Operators. •Develops New Vendors. •Reports changing market conditions. •Negotiates with vendors for wood, negotiating the best possible guarantee. •Checks on safety and environmental programs for Procurement yards. •Covers the duties of the company’s Tie Buyers and Procurement Yard Operators when necessary. •Participates and contribute to company safety program. •Performs other related duties as assigned. Management duties include supervision of exempt and/or non-exempt staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.
