Summary

The Financial Accountant serves as a detail-oriented accounting professional and trusted business partner, responsible for supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the organization’s financial reporting. This role supports core accounting activities, assists with the month-end and year-end close processes, and helps maintain and enhance internal controls to strengthen financial compliance and operational effectiveness. As a key point of contact for both internal and external audit teams, the Financial Accountant provides accounting support, helps ensure audit readiness, and supports regulatory compliance.

The Financial Accountant plays an important role in supporting the finance function by promoting accuracy, accountability, and operational excellence while serving as a reliable partner across the organization.

What you will do:

Close & Financial Reporting

Support all phases of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including journal entries, variance analysis, and roll-forwards (accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, revenue)

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, ensuring all balances are fully supported

Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and support intercompany eliminations across multiple entities

Internal Controls

Support internal controls by maintaining thorough documentation, adhering to standard processes, and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen control effectiveness across assigned areas

Document process narratives and control procedures

Audit Support

Serve as a point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules, PBC deliverables, and supporting documentation on a rolling basis (not just at year-end)

Respond to auditor inquiries and support timely resolution of open items

Support audit readiness for assigned accounts — helping ensure reconciliations meet audit standards throughout the year

Technical Accounting & Process Improvement

Research and document accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions (leases, revenue recognition, business combinations)

Support adoption of new accounting standards (ASC 842, ASC 606, etc.)

Support process improvement initiatives within the GL function — helping streamline close timelines, automate manual processes, and scale reporting capabilities as regulatory complexity grows

Cross-Functional Partnership

Partner cross-functionally with departments across the company to identify ways accounting can support better business decisions and reporting

Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, and Operations on budget-to-actual analysis, forecasting, and special projects

Support system implementation and other initiatives as needed
