The Accountants Professional Liability Underwriter is responsible for the business results, profitability, growth, business development, analysis and monitoring of an assigned book of Accountants Professional Liability business. Recognized as a technical expert in an Accountants Underwriting, this individual works under general management direction within broad limits of authority on assignments requiring a high degree of technical complexity and coordination. In addition to Professional Liability, the Underwriter will also have responsibilities for Accounting firm Cyber and Employment Practices Liability insurance.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

**This role will be hybrid in the CNA office located closest to home. If an office is not in a commutable distance, remote work may be arranged. **

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

1. Advanced technical expertise, underwriting skill and high level of knowledge of insurance and underwriting principles, practices and procedures.
2. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners. 
3. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. 
4. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.
5. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems. 
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. 
7. Demonstrated leadership skills.

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.  Professional designations preferred.
2. Typically a minimum of 5 to eight years underwriting experience.

**The title for this role will be flexible based on experience to one of the following titles: "Underwriter" , "Underwriting Specialist" or "Underwriting Consulting Director" **

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
