Responsibilities
The Underwriting Analyst - Payroll position provides the opportunity to work closely with our agency partners and evaluate risks for Workers’ Compensation, Businessowners’, Commercial Auto, and Umbrella policies for small businesses. This is a great opportunity to begin a career in the commercial insurance industry to learn about interesting commercial insurance products. - Utilize company underwriting criteria to evaluate risks for various lines of business
- Ability to work independently
- Perform independent verification of insured's operations
- Review and process change requests on in-force policies
- Evaluate in-force policies at renewal
- Develop relationships with agencies
- Participate in Underwriting Training for new products, directives and processes
- Travel regularly to agency offices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
- Prior insurance related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a service-centric environment, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Candidates should have investigative skills and be comfortable using the Internet as a research tool
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Adaptability to change
- Strong time management and attention to detail skills
This role is based in our Wilkes‑Barre, PA office, with an expectation of working on‑site three days per week.
