A career in our International Tax Desk practice, within International Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help multinational companies address their cross-border tax needs both locally and globally by managing their global tax rates, finding areas of cost reduction, and responding to inquiries from regulatory authorities. You’ll gain a global perspective and an awareness of tax issues stemming from changes to evolving business structures and geographic expansions.The opportunity
As a U.S. Tax Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high-quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- U.S. Corporate Federal and state income tax compliance.
- U.S. tax provision preparation/U.S. tax provision review.
- Tax research at the federal and state level. This could include drafting of memos and technical analysis related to specific client matters.
- Preparation or review of other tax related calculations, i.e. IRC 382 or earnings and profit calculations.
- Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths, and address development areas.
- Working exclusively with Public and Private Clients.
- Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.
- Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.
- Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
- Experience with U.S Federal and state tax matters, including tax research
- Experience in a public accounting firm.
- U.S. CPA or EA Designation is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Go Systems tax preparation software is desirable.
- Experience with research platforms such as Checkpoint, BNA, or CCH is considered an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities, interpersonal skills, and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during their employment with PwC Canada.

The salary range for this position is $58,400 - $97,500. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
