Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + Benefits
Our client, a well-established professional services firm in downtown Vancouver, is seeking an experienced Trust Accounting Supervisor to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal accounting professional who enjoys balancing hands-on trust accounting responsibilities with leadership, process improvement, and compliance oversight.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily trust accounting operations and related workflows
Review and approve trust transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, electronic transfers, and payment requests
Perform monthly trust reconciliations and assist with reporting requirements
Support transaction closings, payouts, and other trust-related financial activities
Ensure compliance with applicable trust accounting rules, regulations, and internal policies
Assist with audit preparation, reporting obligations, and regulatory deadlines
Provide mentorship, training, and day-to-day support to accounting staff
Collaborate with lawyers, staff, and leadership regarding trust accounting matters
Identify opportunities to improve procedures, controls, and operational efficiency

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of trust accounting experience within a law firm environment
Previous supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience is an asset
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong knowledge of trust accounting procedures, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
Ability to work paid overtime as needed
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Experience with legal accounting or practice management systems
