Treasury Operations Officer - Disbursements

Your next challenge

We are looking for a Treasury Operations Officer – Disbursements to join our team in San José, Costa Rica, supporting a global organization within the financial services sector.

In this role, you will support the operational execution of the end-to-end disbursement process within the Treasury Operations team. You will contribute to the accurate and timely processing of loan disbursements, capital contributions, and guarantees.

You will review financial and operational documentation, validate disbursement requirements, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and monitor transactions through completion. You will also support process documentation, operational improvements, automation, analytics, and efficiency initiatives.

This is a hands-on operational role that requires strong organization, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume and time-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review financing documentation and related correspondence to understand operational requirements.
• Support the coordination and processing of loan disbursements, capital contributions, and guarantees.
• Validate conditions precedent to disbursements and guarantee issuances.
• Monitor compliance with established credit limits and track the maturity and renewal of credit lines.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, Legal, Risk, Treasury, and clients.
• Process disbursements, capital contributions, guarantees, and related activities in the organization’s systems.
• Monitor each stage of the disbursement process to help ensure accurate and timely execution.
• Perform pro-rata, fee, and other operational calculations.
• Prepare operational information, reports, calculations, and system entries with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Manage requirements, dependencies, stakeholders, and timelines across assigned operational activities.
• Identify potential operational issues, risks, or bottlenecks and support their timely resolution or escalation.
• Document and map operational processes.
• Develop and maintain manuals, procedures, process maps, workflows, and guidance materials.
• Analyze recurring operational issues and identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and increased efficiency.
• Recommend and support the implementation of practical process improvements and operational controls.
• Contribute to initiatives involving process automation, data analytics, business intelligence, and AI-enabled tools.
• Support knowledge management, process standardization, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Law, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in banking operations, financial operations, treasury operations, middle office, back office, or a similar operational environment.
• Understanding of financial products, transaction processing, loan operations, or related operational processes.
• Ability to understand operational requirements and learn complex financial processes.
• Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a high-volume and time-sensitive environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational accuracy.
• Ability to identify potential issues, apply sound judgment, and escalate matters appropriately.
• Experience documenting processes, creating procedures, or mapping operational workflows.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Critical thinking and the ability to question existing processes constructively and contribute new ideas.
• Collaborative attitude, maturity, adaptability, and willingness to absorb new information and knowledge.
• Ability to work effectively under operational pressure and receive feedback constructively.
• Demonstrated professional stability and interest in developing within an operational environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with disbursements, loan operations, Trade Finance, or Supply Chain Finance products.
• Understanding of the lifecycle of financial products and their operational requirements.
• Experience creating process manuals, procedures, workflows, or process maps.
• Advanced Excel skills, including experience creating or using macros.
• Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
• Familiarity with process automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
• Experience identifying operational efficiencies and recommending practical improvements.
• Exposure to continuous improvement, operational excellence, or process standardization initiatives.
