This position is located in Long Beach, CA, and is hybrid. In-office work will be required 2 to 3 days per week.

TREASURY AND COMPLIANCE ACCOUNTANT

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will perform a full range of advanced and complex financial and professional duties requiring considerable independent judgment, confidentiality, analytical ability, interpersonal relationship skills, and an in-depth knowledge of Company policies and operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist and support Finance Manager with daily corporate cash funding and cash management.
• Check and record incoming payments from customers and affiliates and then distribute information to various departments. Assist with customer payment or banking system issues.
• Create and update various reports and analyses related to cash, collections, and financial statements.
• Initiate payment requests to various vendors, states and federal agencies.
• Assist Finance department with all necessary audit confirmation requests and schedules.
• Prepare Journal Entries related to cash, sales tax, and adjustments.
• Prepare data files for external tax preparer and review/analyze monthly sales tax returns. Maintain business tax and license accounts. Prepare external compliance reports as required.
• Effectively communicate information to various departments, auditors, banks, etc.
• Assist with various duties in the absence of the Finance Manager.
• Performs other ad-hoc tasks and analyses as requested by management team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Five or more years work experience in an Accounting or Finance work environment and possess highly developed communication and organization skills, in addition to the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks by using time management skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate to all levels of management.
• Investigates problems or questions in finance and sales/business tax areas. Has a natural curiosity and desire to improve processes.
• Communicates with banks and staff timely and accurately to assure compliance.
• Assists Finance Manager in managing projects and in achieving optimum time management.
