Key Responsibilities
The Return Utah program is similar to an internship designed for adults looking to re-enter the workforce after
an extended absence. These opportunities are structured as return-to-work positions that provide the experience,
training, skills, and mentoring an individual need to return to the workforce.
Return Utah is a 16-week program for people who have taken a career break for at least one years or more for
reasons such as starting or raising a family, caring for a family member, chronic illness, enhanced education,
other personal/career related needs, etc. Those serving, separated, or retired from military service and their
spouses and/or partners are not required to meet the two-year requirement. A career break of any length makes
them eligible to participate in the program.
This is a temporary (benefitted), full-time position for potential Return Utah candidates.
To be eligible for this return-to-work opportunity, candidates must:
- Be on a career break of one or more years at time of application unless currently serving, recently separated,
retired from military service, or supporting a military spouse/partner. - Have prior professional experience in functional area of interest.

The Utah State Tax Commission's Customer Services Division is looking for a skilled and motivated individual
to fill its TAX TECH II - FRONT COUNTER AGENT position. This person will play an integral role in Division's mission to answer
taxpayer inquires. You must be current on your state and federal tax filings and pass a FBI level
background check.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:
- Assist customers with Tax Commission license applications, business and income tax filings, and payments
- Maintain cash funds, and balance cash drawer daily
- Secure all documents and checks/cash at the end of the day
- Scan documents
- Data entry
- Pay attention to details
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Provide general information to customers
- Work in a team environment
- Work with taxpayers over the phone
Qualifications
Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:
- has exceptional customer service skills
- has the ability to work in an adverse environment dealing with upset people over the phone
- can work in a fast paced environment
- is comfortable using Google i.e. - Documents, Spreadsheets, Mail.
- has excellent data entry skills
Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:
- Preference may be given to those with experience working in keeping information confidential.
