Relationship Manager – High Net Worth Tax & Family Office Services
OVERVIEW
A well-established $5B+ Multi-Family Office in New York City is seeking an experienced high-net-worth tax professional to join the firm as a Relationship Manager supporting ultra-high-net-worth clients ($25MM–$50MM+). This position offers an exceptional opportunity to transition from the traditional public accounting environment into private industry while maintaining a sophisticated and intellectually engaging tax practice with improved work/life balance. The role involves detailed review of complex individual, gift, trust, partnership, and foundation tax returns, while working closely with an established client base on tax planning, financial management, and family office-related advisory matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership and gain exposure to broader family office services and relationship management responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review complex individual, gift, trust, partnership, and private foundation income tax returns for ultra-high-net-worth clients, during tax season.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and relationship manager to an existing base of HNW and UHNW families regarding tax-related matters and financial management needs.
- Assist in providing tax-based planning advice across estate, gift, trust, partnership, and philanthropic structures.
- Collaborate directly with the Managing Director and senior leadership on client strategy, planning initiatives, and family office service delivery.
- Coordinate with external advisors including CPA firms, attorneys, investment professionals, and other third-party service providers.
- Participate in broader family office services and relationship management initiatives while helping to ensure an exceptional client experience.
- Maintain awareness of evolving tax legislation and planning opportunities impacting high-net-worth individuals and family entities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of diversified high-net-worth tax experience within a CPA firm, multi-family office, single-family office, or comparable UHNW tax environment.
- Strong technical expertise reviewing complex individual, gift, trust, partnership, and foundation tax returns.
- Experience advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on tax planning and wealth management-related matters.
- Proven ability to interact directly with sophisticated clients and maintain strong long-term relationships.
