The Reemployment Assistance (RA) Division (formerly Unemployment Insurance) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee and administer its Tax Services Program. This key management position provides strategic direction and operational oversight for a team of 15 employees located throughout the state and serves as a member of the RA Director's leadership and advisory team.
As the Division's subject matter expert on unemployment insurance tax administration, the Tax Program Administrator is responsible for interpreting and applying federal and state laws, regulations, and policies to ensure program compliance and consistency. The position provides expert guidance and technical assistance to staff, employers, stakeholders, and the public on complex tax-related matters.
Key responsibilities include directing the unemployment insurance tax audit program; overseeing investigations and the review of tax determinations; representing the Division in administrative appeals and hearings; identifying and recommending process improvements to enhance program effectiveness and compliance; and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to state and federal agencies. The Tax Manager also plays a critical role in developing policies, implementing program initiatives, and supporting the Division's strategic goals.
This position works as a supervisor in the Department of Labor & Regulation in the administrative office in Aberdeen. Occasional travel to other communities across the state along with one out-of-state trip annually are on an as needed basis.

Licenses and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
