What you’ll do:
The Tax Department supports Tangoe to ensure fiscal responsibility and be a trusted business advisor. This includes:
Prepares and files tax returns and reports in compliance with established deadlines. Responsible for determining tax implications of company actions and develops strategies for minimizing liability. Keeps abreast of changes in federal, state, and local tax legislation. Utilizes appropriate internal and external resources to monitor changes in applicable foreign tax legislation. *Very High-Level Big Picture. This would be the same across all jobs in this function*
Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager your primary duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for managing the tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance function.
- Oversee the completion of accurate tax returns to minimize the tax obligations of the organization
- Manage international resources to ensure proper compliance of subsidiaries in all applicable jurisdictions
- Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns
- Identify and mitigate tax risks
- Manage tax provision and tax compliance process
- Own the sales/value-added tax process and compliance
- Manage and coordinate tax audits
- Maintain tax balances on general ledger
- Prepare all tax papers in regular basis and handle all information data requests
- Coordinate and manage transfer pricing policy compliance process
- Lead projects on a cross-functional basis
- Help develop and implement new projects, policies, and procedures for a department to meet key corporate initiatives
- Develop key relationships with internal and external consultants and stakeholders
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business required
- Advanced degree in tax and/or CPA a plus
- 5+ years of experience in the corporate tax field
- Proven work experience as a tax manager
- Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, valued-added {sales} tax, and transfer pricing fundamentals
- Strong background in accounting ERP and Avalara software
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel
- Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills
- Analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
