A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Tax Manager within the Global Tax Reporting team at MKS, you will play a key role in the calculation and reporting of U.S. federal taxable income as part of the global ASC 740 income tax provision. You will partner closely with the broader Global Tax Reporting team to ensure federal tax calculations are accurate, well-documented, and aligned with overall provision processes, while supporting select tax planning and process improvement initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and own the calculation of U.S. federal taxable income as part of the Global Tax Reporting process, including detailed book-to-tax adjustments, supporting documentation, and alignment with global reporting timelines, controls, and documentation standards
- Own the integration of U.S. federal taxable income into the consolidated ASC 740 provision, including effective tax rate analysis and supporting schedules
- Support the ASC 740 close process, including variance analysis, rollforwards, and audit-ready documentation for federal tax components
- Oversee external service providers responsible for U.S. federal income tax compliance, ensuring outputs are consistent with internally prepared taxable income calculations and provision positions
- Review and manage complex federal tax calculations prepared by external advisors, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with the global provision framework
- Prepare and review U.S. federal income tax estimates and extension calculations, ensuring consistency with provision assumptions and overall tax reporting positions
- Support U.S. federal tax audits and notices, coordinating responses and documentation within the Global Tax Reporting framework
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and internal controls over federal taxable income calculations, aligned with global provision processes and documentation protocols
- Lead process transformation initiatives leveraging AI and automation to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data integrity within the Global Tax Reporting function
- Provide limited support on domestic state and local income tax matters, primarily in a review and coordination capacity
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of job-related work experience
- Strong proficiency in Excel
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree
- CPA certification
- Experience in OneSource Tax Provision and Hyperion
- History working with/in multi-national corporations
This position is Hybrid and candidates must live within commutable distance to our corporate headquarters in Andover, MA.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range: $109,750 - $182,900 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
