The Opportunity: Tax Manager
We’re looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to our UHNW clients.
In this role, you’ll:
- Own high-impact client relationships
- Lead and develop a growing team
- Partner directly with firm leadership
- Deliver strategic tax planning—not just compliance
What You’ll Do
Lead & Develop Talent
- Mentor and coach tax professionals in a high-performance, team-first environment
- Partner with leadership on onboarding, training, and team development
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth
- Review and manage sophisticated returns across individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and international structures
- Ensure compliance across federal, state, and global tax regulations
- Oversee multiple engagements while maintaining exceptional quality
- Design and implement tailored tax strategies aligned to client wealth goals
- Advise on estate, gift, and captive insurance planning strategies
- Proactively identify planning opportunities throughout the year
- Build strong, long-term relationships with UHNW clients
- Provide insight on complex financial decisions, investments, and transactions
- Deliver a proactive, concierge-level client experience
- Stay ahead of evolving tax laws and industry trends
- Advise firm leadership on technical and planning matters
- Contribute to the continued growth and innovation of DBTA
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
- CPA required
- 5+ years of tax experience, including leadership experience
- Proven experience working with ultra-high-net-worth clients
- Deep expertise in federal, state, and international tax
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex tax concepts
- High-level client relationship management
- Experience with CCH (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
