Position Overview
Aligned Solutions is seeking an experienced Tax Manager on behalf of a well-established and growing public accounting firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished tax professional who enjoys working with high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses while serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax expertise, exceptional client relationship skills, and experience leading tax engagements and mentoring staff within a collaborative public accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals and pass-through entities.
- Review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
- Conduct technical tax research and provide practical recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and strategies to help clients minimize tax exposure.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Collaborate with partners and senior leadership on complex tax matters and consulting engagements.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop tax professionals while reviewing work for quality and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, professional standards, and firm policies.
- Assist with workflow management, client communications, and engagement planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA license required.
- Master's in Taxation or LLM preferred.
- 5–10+ years of public accounting tax experience.
- Experience with regional or national public accounting firms is highly preferred.
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for:
- High-net-worth individuals
- Partnerships
- S Corporations
- C Corporations
- Strong knowledge of federal tax law, tax planning strategies, and tax research.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience utilizing tax software and research tools such as CCH, ProSystem fx, or similar platforms.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
