About the Opportunity: The US Tax Manager is responsible for keeping the US businesses compliant with various local, state, and federal tax regulations. Tax Manager, USA assists in implementing measures and developing policies for dealing with various areas relating to taxes. Tax Manager, USA also performs estimations, analysis, planning, and research and oversees audits, related to tax matters.

This role is located about our Ahlstrom Central Office in Kaukauna, WI and is offered a hybrid work schedule.

Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities:

•    To ensure that all taxes, such as federal and state taxes, sales tax, excise duties and any other income and operational taxes are reported and paid in a timely manner and in compliance with the US regulations
•    Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits:  preparing responses, creating schedules, etc
•    Responsibility of the US financial tax reporting as a part of the group accounts as well as transfer pricing
•    Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to tax legislation
•    To support business and take part in all material business decisions in the US operations such as M&A, new business transactions etc. as tax matters being an integrated part of the business processes
•    Manages third party US tax consultants and is responsible for deciding, together with the Head of Group Tax, on the need for second opinion in complex tax matters
•    Appointed as officer of all USA legal entities to conduct day-to-day business

Minimum Occupation Requirements:

•    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
•    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from the local state board of accountancy
•    Several years of prior experience in accounting / tax
•    Experience in preparing individual, business, benefit fund, real estate, and exempt organization tax returns
•    Several years of relevant experience within US tax matters
•    Knowledge of the strategic business plans and understanding of longer-term business strategies and needs
•    Experience of tax matters in a complex, global organization
•    Strong knowledge of USA tax code
•    Strong knowledge of both IFRS and GAAP standards
•    Strong accounting and analytical skills
•    Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements
•    Proficiency in Tax software, HFM (Hyperion Software System), and SAP or other ERP system
•    Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word required
•    Demonstrated success in managing projects and delivering results
