Responsibilities
Tax & Advisory
- Review complex individual (Form 1040), fiduciary (Form 1041), and closely held business tax returns.
- Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services for high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and business owners.
- Advise clients on wealth planning strategies, business succession, family legacy planning, investment considerations, and personal financial matters.
- Research and analyze complex federal and state tax issues and develop practical planning recommendations.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate planning opportunities to clients.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with a diverse portfolio of private clients.
- Lead client meetings focused on tax planning, compliance, and strategic advisory services.
- Collaborate with professionals across tax, audit, consulting, business advisory, and wealth management to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional firm services.
- Assist with business development activities and support firm growth initiatives.
Engagement Management
- Manage multiple tax engagements while ensuring quality, profitability, and timely delivery.
- Oversee engagement planning, staffing, workflow, budgeting, and billing.
- Review engagement profitability and monitor monthly billing performance.
- Ensure client work complies with firm quality standards and professional requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
- Review work prepared by Senior Associates and Staff Accountants.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, and career development to engagement teams.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
- Participate in firm initiatives related to technical excellence, innovation, process improvement, and culture.
Qualifications
Required
- CPA, J.D., LL.M., or Master's degree in Taxation.
- Five or more years of progressive public accounting experience.
- Extensive experience preparing and reviewing complex individual income tax returns (Form 1040).
- Strong tax planning and consulting experience with high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
- Excellent tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Preferred
- Experience preparing and reviewing fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041).
- Experience serving multigenerational families, entrepreneurs, and private business owners.
- Business development experience within a public accounting environment.
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and supervising professional staff.
