Tax Intern

Key Responsibilities

As a Tax intern in Simplot's Tax Department, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing sales/use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions across the US.
• Compilation of information to support sales tax audits.
• Assisting with tax research and documenting findings.
• Monitor and record property tax bills and assessments using tax technology.
• Assist with income tax research and special projects.
• Assist international GST/PST filing.

Typical Education

• Must be pursuing a BA/BS or MS in Accounting or Tax.
• Must be a full-time student.

Relevant Experience

Successful candidates for this position will have:

• Strong software skills; specifically, with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other MS Office applications.
• Excellent communications skills; both verbal and written.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• An interest in an indirect tax career
• Flexibility with the work schedule, particularly in the school year.
• It is preferred that the candidate be available for 6 months and be:
  • Early Junior status within the undergraduate accounting program; or
  • Early Senior status also committed to the Master of Tax graduate program
