Duties

Attend the local hiring event. During the hiring event, we will be making job offers on-the-spot and selected candidates will complete several pre-employment steps. Space is limited. Applicants will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. The entire process can take about 2-3 hours to complete. Please plan accordingly. If you do not apply prior to the event, you will be asked to do so before entering the event. Applicants who are unable to attend the event will still be considered.


The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.

Qualifications

Federal experience is not required. Experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or through Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION GS-04: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements to qualify at this grade level: At least one year of general experience. General experience includes progressively responsible clerical, administrative, financial, customer service, or records-related work that demonstrates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Examples of qualifying experience include:

OR Successful completion of two (2) years of education above the high school level from an accredited college, university, business, secretarial, or technical school.
OR A combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of general experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION GS-05: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes experience such as: OR Successful completion of four (4) years of education above the high school level leading to a bachelor's degree, or a bachelor's or higher degree.
OR A combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of specialized experience.

Education

A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
