What you’ll get to do
- Lead the timely and accurate filing of payroll tax returns across assigned jurisdictions using bulk processing methods.
- Partner with clients and tax agencies to resolve tax filing issues, including rejections, late filings, and amendments.
- Execute and manage tax agency data exchanges to ensure accurate rates and filing frequencies.
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in agency requirements, ensuring internal systems reflect current regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and tax agencies to gather requirements, solve issues, and improve filing processes.
- Contribute to automation initiatives, helping streamline deposits and filings while reducing manual processes.
- Use sound judgment to analyze issues, develop solutions, and drive outcomes independently.
- Support key business initiatives and special projects that enhance operational excellence.
Skills and experience we value
- Bachelor’s degree, relevant industry experience, or a combination of both
- 5+ years of payroll and/or tax filing experience, ideally in a high-volume or bulk filing environment
- Professional certifications (CPA or Enrolled Agent) are a plus
- Experience with Salesforce or similar case management tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, agencies, and internal teams
- Analytical mindset with the ability to problem-solve and drive effective solutions independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.) and the ability to quickly learn internal systems
- A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with sound judgment and decision-making skills
