Tax Associate 

Prosperity Partners ("Prosperity") is a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, transaction advisory and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States and private equity backing, Prosperity is seeking an energetic tax professional to support our fast-growing business. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, superb accounting skills, budding leadership qualities and excellent communication and client service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with a wide variety of company clients, from early-stage, fast-growth companies to high net worth families;
• Participate in accounting and tax projects;
• Prepare business, individual and trust income tax returns;
• Research and analyze complex tax issues;
• Assist with complex merger and acquisition transactions;
• Respond to routine tax notices;
• Be able to multi-task, respond to demanding client needs and thrive in a deadline-driven industry.

Qualifications:

• Accounting Degree from an accredited four-year university;
• CPA designation or working to obtain CPA qualification;
• Prior accounting experience via full-time employment. A strong interest in taxation is important;
• Proven understanding of transactional accounting and entries and the ability to draft GAAP-based financial reports;
• Proficient in accounting/tax software programs such as Quickbooks, Intacct, Prosystem FX, and/or CCH Axcess is strongly preferred;
• Success in prior work experience with the ability to self-manage & prioritize assignments and client interface;
• A strong work ethic combined with a positive, collaborative attitude;
• Self-motivated and comfortable excelling in both solo and team driven environments;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills;
• Availability to work in the office at least 2 days per week.

Annual Salary Range

$75,000 - $90,000 USD
