We are hiring a Certified Public Accountant to support individual, small-business, estate, and trust clients while developing into a broader financial advisory role.
We are specifically looking for a CPA with approximately one to three years of public accounting experience who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to expand beyond tax preparation. The right candidate will prepare tax returns, identify planning opportunities, participate in retirement and estate-planning meetings, and work closely with experienced financial advisors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a growth-oriented CPA interested in developing expertise in tax planning, wealth management, estate planning, and financial planning. There may also be an opportunity to pursue additional credentials, including the CFP designation.
Responsibilities
- Meet directly with clients and prepare individual income tax returns
- Prepare partnership and small-business returns, including Forms 1065 and 1120
- Assist with trust, estate, and fiduciary tax matters, including Forms 1040 and 706 and applicable New Jersey filings
- Develop year-round tax-planning projections and recommendations
- Support financial advisors with tax, retirement, and estate-planning strategies
- Participate in client meetings involving financial plans, budgets, retirement, and estate matters
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and support new business development
- Research tax matters and collaborate with managers, partners, and financial advisors
- Assist with client accounting and other year-round advisory services
Requirements
- Active CPA license
- Approximately 1–3+ years of public accounting or tax experience
- Experience preparing individual and small-business tax returns
- Strong interest in financial planning, wealth management, retirement planning, and estate planning
- Comfortable meeting directly with clients and explaining tax matters clearly
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate client records
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
- Willingness to work additional evening or Saturday hours during tax season when needed
- Ability to work in the Oradell, New Jersey office
