Job Summary: Tax Accountant II (Remote, PST Hours)About the Role Join a dynamic, industry-leading consumer/retail company as a Tax Accountant II. In this fully remote, Seattle-based role, you will play a critical part in driving tax compliance, supporting payroll tax operations, and implementing process improvements within a collaborative Finance team. This 12-month contract position offers exposure to complex tax environments and the chance to expand your expertise with cutting-edge tools and processes.Responsibilities- Prepare and file required payroll tax forms accurately and on time- Balance daily payments, process, and reconcile stock transactions- Respond promptly to tax inquiries and manage the team tax inbox- Analyze large data sets for audit support and ensure compliance- Update tax authority records and maintain accurate documentation- Drive payroll tax process improvements and recommend best practices- Identify and resolve issues within payroll tax processes- Provide consultation and propose updates to procedures based on business or legislative changesRequired Skills and Experience- Minimum 3 years’ experience in tax accounting- At least 2 years of hands-on payroll tax experience (payments, reconciliations, filings)- Proficient in EC-Payroll/Employee Central Payroll- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word- Experience using tax compliance software and supporting database tools (e.g., SAP, Success Factors, ADP, ECP)- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesPreferred Skills- Experience with multi-state and provincial tax reporting and filing- Knowledge of federal, state, local, and provincial labor law- Customer service background- Experience with Canadian payrollBenefits- Fully remote position—work from anywhere while staying connected with a high-performing team- Consistent Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm PST schedule for work-life balance- Exposure to large-scale tax operations and advanced payroll systems- Opportunity to collaborate with industry experts and grow your tax careerHow to Apply If you are driven, detail-oriented, and ready to make an impact in a fast-paced finance environment, submit your application today!
