The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta’s interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta’s competitive wholesale electricity market. As a System Controller Trainer, you’ll report to the Manager, Training and Compliance Delivery and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of system controllers who safeguard Alberta’s grid. You will apply a systematic approach to training (SAT) to design, develop, and continuously improve courses within the System Controller Training Program, while maintaining compliance with applicable Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS) and the NERC System Operator Continuing Education Program.
