The Supplier Risk Manager is a senior-level role within Global Supplier Management (GSM), part of the Global Procurement Organization (GPO). This role owns the end-to-end design, development, and operationalization of supplier risk programs and policies protecting Amazon's global supply chain across ~$45B in annual spend.You will architect comprehensive risk programs and establish the governance frameworks, analytics infrastructure, and resource models that enable scalable execution. The ideal candidate is a builder who thrives in ambiguity, defines both the “what” and the “how,” and drives cross-functional alignment at enterprise scale.Key job responsibilitiesProgram Architecture & Execution• Design and implement scalable supplier risk programs spanning financial, operational, reputational, safety, regulatory, tier-n, geopolitical, sustainability, and single/sole source risk domains• Develop risk scoring methodologies, segmentation frameworks, and tiered monitoring approaches aligned to supplier criticality and spend exposure• Build early warning systems to proactively identify emerging supplier risks before business impact occurs• Consolidate siloed risk management activities into a unified, governed program portfolio with defined escalation pathways, response protocols, and supplier remediation frameworks• Define program success metrics, reporting cadences, and escalation protocols• Identify and secure resource support structures — team capacity, partner ownership, technology tools, or vendor support — that enable programs to operate at scalePolicy Development & Governance• Author and maintain supplier risk management policies, standards, and procedures enabling consistent execution across all regions• Establish governance mechanisms to ensure policy compliance and drive continuous improvement• Partner with Legal, Compliance, GPO partners, and Finance to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate standards• Own policy lifecycle management including periodic reviews, updates, and stakeholder communicationStakeholder Engagement & Influence• Collaborate with Category Managers, Supplier Performance Managers, and regional teams to embed risk considerations into sourcing decisions, business consequence decisions, and supplier lifecycle management• Present risk posture, program performance, and policy recommendations to senior leadership• Influence cross-functional partners without direct authority to adopt risk management practices and tools• Champion a risk-aware culture across GSM and the broader GPOAnalytics & Continuous Improvement• Lead design of data models and risk scoring methodologies integrating financial health assessments, background/suitability screening, ESG indicators, geopolitical signals, safety records, quality metrics, capacity, delivery, and other performance metrics• Leverage data and analytics to identify risk trends, concentration risks, and portfolio vulnerabilities• Drive automation and tooling improvements to increase program scalability and reduce manual effort• Benchmark internal practices against industry standards and implement leading-edge approachesA day in the life• Global scope supporting all regions• High degree of autonomy with expectation to define both strategy and execution• Cross-functional collaboration with Category Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Security, Sustainability, and Operations teams• Hybrid work environment; travel up to 50%About the teamGSM is comprised of multi-disciplinary experts in quality assurance, supplier qualifications, operational excellence, and new product qualifications. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
