I. Job Summary
The Supervisor of Payroll Systems & Analytics is responsible for leading payroll systems, data analytics, and reporting functions within a shared services payroll environment. This role combines supervisory accountability with advanced business analysis capabilities to support payroll accuracy, compliance, scalability, and data‑driven decision‑making. The role partners closely with Payroll Operations, HR Technology, Finance, and third party suppliers to ensure payroll systems, integrations, and analytics enable efficient operations and strong internal controls.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads payroll systems operations, enhancements, and integrations, ensuring system stability, scalability, and compliance with payroll and tax requirements.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for payroll data structures, calculations, validations, and downstream financial impacts.
- Collaborates with cross‑functional partners and third‑party vendors to execute system upgrades, drive testing and parallel testing activities, resolve defects, and support post‑go‑live hypercare.
- Identifies automation, standardization, and optimization opportunities to improve payroll processes and reporting efficiency.
- Monitors teamwork processes and procedures, serving as the first point of escalation on team‑related issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Contributes to a strong functional team by supporting onboarding, coaching, development, and ongoing performance support for team members.
- Coordinates daily workloads and helps team members understand priorities and expectations.
- Evaluates case volume, analytical output, and quality metrics in a shared services environment to ensure service level commitments are met.
- Oversees auditing of payroll system transactions, reports, and electronic records to ensure data integrity, proper documentation, and compliance with internal controls.
- Supports payroll compliance activities related to Collective Bargaining Agreements, regulatory requirements, audits, and internal reviews.
- Partners with Payroll leadership to assess risks, analyze issues, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree
- High School Diploma GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience in Finance or Business Administration.
- 3 years of relevant experience in Payroll Processes and Leading a Team (in addition to education requirement).
B. Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience with payroll systems, data analytics, reporting tools, and large‑scale payroll environments
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience supporting payroll system implementations, integrations, or major enhancements
- 3 years of Oracle HCM Cloud experience
