This position supervises/manages:

Summary of Essential Functions of the Position:
- Protects organization’s value keeping information confidential.
- Assists with audit, tax, and accounting activities to ensure correct reporting and safeguarding of assets.
- Assists with preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and general ledger in accordance with GAAP in a timely manner.
- Prepares and enters accounting entries and adjustments.
- Records or directs the recording of all revenues and expenses and other financial transactions in the organization’s accounting system.
- Oversees preparation and issuance of payments to vendors.
- Works with vendors to arrange favorable payment terms for the organization.
- Assists with preparation and filing local, state and federal tax returns.
- Maintains a detailed listing of all fixed assets held by the organization.
- Facilitates organization’s non-financial reporting. Develop and oversee a framework to measure organizational performance and success.
- Facilitate collection of awarded legal restitution.
- Performs, reviews and updates of internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Actively engage with volunteers in such a way that provides support for our volunteers and staff and proactively improves our volunteer program. Constantly look for ways to use volunteers to perform accounting related tasks.
- Be an ambassador for the SPCA of Texas, sharing the work and mission with your friends and family and be knowledgeable of the various ways to support our work.

- Scheduling invoices for payment.
- How the financial records are organized for the organization.

- Alerting the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer to material errors or omissions in the organization’s financial records or lapses in internal controls.
- Ensuring the deposits are made in a timely manner.
Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position.
- Must demonstrate the Core Values of the SPCA of Texas on and off the job.
- BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Three years of progressive experience in an accounting environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Financial Edge a plus but not required.
- Experience with data analysis and dashboards a plus but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
