We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and forward-thinking leader who wants to make an impact on our organization and community in this exciting upcoming vacancy as Supervisor, Accounting and Budgets (Capital)! You will lead the coordination of capital budgets and forecasts and the monitoring of capital budget performance in realization of the Town of Innisfil’s Strategic Plan 2030, being true to the values: “Community First. Future Ready. Balance Always.”.
As a member of our Financial Services Leadership Team, the Supervisor, Accounting and Budgets (Capital) will lead the day-to-day accounting, budgeting, and reporting functions related to the Town’s capital program and will be responsible for:
- Coordinating all aspects of the Town’s capital budget process, including cash flow forecasting, financial analysis and funding strategies.
- Leading Development Charges Background Study (DCBS) updates, along with a variety of other Finance projects and initiatives.
- Maintaining the Long-Range Financial Plan (LRFP) and supporting financial forecasting, including reserve forecasting and financial sustainability analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Overseeing capital accounting, tangible capital asset reporting, general ledger reconciliations, and legislated financial reporting requirements.
- Providing financial reporting, analysis, and support to Council and departments.
Requirements
- A university degree in in business, finance, or related discipline.
- CPA designation is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting and finance field, preferably in a municipal environment.
- A valid Class "G" driver's licence in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
- Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
