Summer Student - Accounting
Reporting to the Accounting Associate, the Summer Student - Accounting acts as the back end administrative support for the Accounts Department.
This individual will work out of the YPM Corporate office at 392 Colborne, London Ontario.
This position is expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer season.
Priorities change regularly in this position and the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to change priorities as required.
Responsibilities
1. Tenant Ledger & Adjustment Support
- Process AGI (Above Guideline Increase) adjustments on tenant ledgers
- Print and prepare AGI adjustment letters for distribution
- Enter tenant chargebacks accurately and ensure proper documentation
2. Mail, Cheques & Daily Administrative Duties
- Manage daily mail: sorting, distributing, and preparing outgoing items
- Deposit cheques and record deposit details
- Fold and prepare N1 letters for delivery
3. Financial Posting & Reconciliation
- Complete BP (bill payment) posting
- Support additional reconciliation tasks as assigned
4. Inspections & Charge Processing
- Review AC inspection reports
- Identify, calculate, and enter related tenant charges based on inspection findings
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Ability to use and/or learn how to use new technology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy on documentation
- Excellent customer service
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Currently enrolled in an accounting or related program at a post secondary institution in Ontario
