Position Summary:
The Strategic Finance / Corporate Development Manager supports CCM’s Executive Leadership Team in driving key strategic and financial initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, with a dotted-line relationship to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role operates at the intersection of strategic finance, corporate development, and operational execution. The position plays a critical role in evaluating and executing strategic growth opportunities, supporting capital investment decisions, and preparing insights for board and executive stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, driven, and resourceful, with the ability to independently execute with urgency and impact in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role provides the opportunity to directly contribute to shaping CCM’s strategic direction and growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Partner directly with the COO, CCO, and finance team to work cross-functionally with ELT members on strategic initiatives, financial analysis, and corporate development matters.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, strategic initiatives, and M&A transactions, including NPV, IRR, FCF, and DCF analysis.
- Support and lead cross functional due diligence processes and prepare executive-level presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of strategic business cases for new growth opportunities, partnerships, and operational improvements.
- Support operational performance and commercial initiative analyses.
- Represent CCM with external partners and stakeholders where appropriate to drive execution of strategic initiatives.
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for executive leadership and board review.
- Monitor industry trends and conduct competitive benchmarking to support strategic decision-making.
- Help drive capital allocation and business planning processes to align investments with strategic priorities.
- Create and maintain executive dashboards and reporting packages to communicate financial performance and investment impact.
- Serve as a trusted partner to business leaders across operations, commercial, and corporate functions.
- Other ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives as needed to support the SVP of Finance and the Executive Leadership Team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, corporate development, management consulting, or strategy / finance within the transportation, logistics, or infrastructure space
- Strong financial and operational modeling and valuation skills, including:
- Business case development
- NPV / IRR, FCF/DCF, and valuation analysis
- Scenario and sensitivity modeling
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to distill complex financial analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a “get it done” mindset.
- Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or infrastructure industries is strongly preferred
