This position will work extensively with the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and industry specific inventory and revenue systems. The position is within the Corporate Accounting department which also includes accounts payable, Treasury, local tax, GL maintenance, and licensure responsibilities. The Staff Accountant will be a key contributor to the annual audit, corporate tax filings and other outside deliverables.
Essential Job Duties:
- Participate in all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations and monthly closings
- Participate in all financial reporting throughout the company utilizing the core ERP, SAP, Excel, and SQL-based reporting
- Participate in the monthly liquid inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate and complete maintenance of inventory records, reporting, and liaise with field offices for follow-up and inquiry
- Assist in overseeing the company purchase card account for cardholders; follow-up with inquiries regarding credit limits, and troubleshooting account access
- Participate in the full cycle acquire to retire / Fixed Asset accounting and reporting processes
- Establish, monitor and enforces financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support the review and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and budgets including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow projections
- Assist with compiling data and reports for auditors, tax accountants and insurance companies
- Evaluate best practices and diligently seek and find electronic efficiencies in accounting process
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in corporate or public accounting environment
- Selected candidate must be a natural leader capable of motivating others
- Use of Microsoft Excel to reconcile, analyze or maintain data or records
- Experience with an ERP or accounting system preferred
- Problem solving and analytical skills required
- CPA or pursuit of CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional credential highly preferred
- Experience with fast growing companies (with demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment)
- Honesty, integrity, and exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to customer service are a must along with a sense of urgency, strength of conviction, humility, and a desire to work as a business partner with other departments within the company
