Essential Job Functions

 

Position:                    Staff Accountant

Department:              Accounting  

Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities, etc.)

         Review, close, analyze & report financial statements monthly, quarterly & annually; accuracy & timeliness a must for all companies within our scope.

         Provide financial information as support to financial statements to departments and to parent on an as needed basis

         Maintain books in line with GAAP

         Oversee general ledger software vendor relationship & maintenance with MAS 200 and DataWorks

         Oversee internal audits & external audits as needed

          Complete all duties as assigned by the CFO & Director of Financial Reporting

 Secondary Responsibilities:

Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days)

         815-500 Mon to Fri; and any other time (after hours, weekends, holidays) as needed

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must meet the following criteria

Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.)

         5-7 years accounting experience

         3-5 years supervisory experience

         Hospitality accounting experience preferred

Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)

         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or comparable work experience

Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)

          Strong interpersonal skills a must for communicating with staff, department heads, vendors and customers

Technical Requirements:  

         Oversee general ledger software vendor relationship & maintenance with MAS 200 & DataWorks

         Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
