SUMMARY:
This position is under the general supervision of the Controller and Sr. Staff Accountant . Processes bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies, including set up of payroll deductions, non-recurring payroll items, and posting of payroll and payroll tax payments to the general ledger. Assists with quarterly and annual filing of required federal and state payroll tax reports. Assists with administration of employee benefit plans, including 401(k) and cafeteria plans. Assists Sr. Staff Accountant with review, posting and analysis of daily cash receipts. Maintains Daily Cash Sheet. Assist Sr. Staff Accountant with auditing and reconciling cash, check and credit card activity from all SDMI locations. Provides backup for the Accounts Payable and Accounting Clerk positions in the Accounting Department. Audits and records billing department Patient Refund checks for accuracy and upload to positive pay. Reconciles various Balance Sheet accounts related to employee benefits. Maintains various spreadsheets and accounting records necessary to perform duties. Reconciles bank statements. Assists with month end and year end processes, including account analysis and preparation of supporting documentations for annual financial statement review. May also perform other job related duties for the efficient operation of SDMI.
MINIMUM SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years payroll processing experience required (ADP workforce payroll system preferred).
• Ability to exercise critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills- Microsoft and Great Plains Dynamics preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
