Staff Accountant

Columbus Corporate - Columbus, MT (Hybrid Remote)
Schedule:
5x2, 4x3 - 9-hour days
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Mobile Maintenance team with managing their monthly costs to the budget and ensuring clear monthly reporting as well as assisting with reporting various KPI's. They will be responsible for managing the budget strategy within SibanyeStillwater's budgeting system as well as assisting with capital purchases and planning. The successful candidate will provide operating results for Mobile Maintenance to multiple levels within that team. The Staff Accountant also maintains and monitors the daily activities/transactions associated with Mobile Maintenance. The Staff Accountant will also work within Mobile Maintenance's Asset Management System and produce various reports from that system as well as work with Mobile Maintenance Planners and Data Specialists ensuring accurate costing and data elements within that system.
- Generate, review, record and post general journal entries to the Company's financial books and records
- Ongoing coordination with the Mobile Maintenance teams to control costs and report out Key Performance Indicators.
- Assist with periodic review of accounting policies, procedures and workflow practices and assist with periodic program review
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, including mobile maintenance operating and capital budget
- Assist with the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program by ensuring internal control procedures are designed properly and working effectively and documentation is kept up-to-date
- Cross-train with other accounting/finance personnel to ensure adequate department coverage at all times
- Other duties and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or management
- Position will be based in Columbus, Montana and will be required to go to each of the mine sites (Stillwater and East Boulder) once a week remainder of the week will have ability to work from home when not necessary to be on-site.

- JDE EnterpriseOne software, as well as budget modeling experience a plus
Education & Experience:
- BS degree in accounting or finance or related field and/or 4+ years relevant accounting experience
- A proven ability to communicate with multiple site locations and at all levels in order to accumulate data, interpret results, propose changes and report the financial effect of business decisions
- Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- Demonstrated working knowledge of statutory and GAAP/IFRS accounting; including Sarbanes Oxley requirements
