About the Opportunity: Our client is hiring a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team and support the day-to-day financial operations of a growing manufacturing business. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with manufacturing accounting, inventory, and job costing while partnering with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and inventory integrity.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support the month-end and year-end close process.
- Maintain inventory-related general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with annual financial review activities and other accounting projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Manufacturing Accounting
- Review and maintain accurate job costing, including labor, material, and production costs.
- Monitor inventory transactions and process inventory adjustments.
- Maintain accurate raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory records.
- Investigate costing and inventory discrepancies and work with operations to resolve issues.
- Lead and take responsibility for the annual physical inventory process, including entering inventory data, reconciling inventory counts, preparing final inventory reports, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's inventory records.
Collaboration
- Partner with production and operations to ensure costing accuracy and financial integrity.
- Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience with ERP systems required; SAP, Monarch, and QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and an analytical, detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
