SALARY RANGE - $75,000 - $80,000 /year. The Staff Accountant is responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels on internal control, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding assets.
Essential Functions

- Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- The ability to be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- The ability to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Monitor quality of service in the department.
- Ensure compliance with SOP’s and procedures in the department.
- Assist with the management of the interviewing process of candidates for department positions and follow standards for hiring approvals.
- Comply with weekly and monthly forecasting procedures.
- Effectively work with the department head to manage and communicate cash flow related issues. This includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds.
- Monitor resort revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with Resort’s established guidelines.
- Monitor the capital planning process by assisting management with the calculation of return on capital improvements, gathering support and monitoring the bid process, and ensuring proper upkeep of the property by evaluating scope of work and specifications.
- Ensure resorts’ compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes. Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items.
- Analyze financial data and operations.
- Ensure that all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, are reconciled on a timely basis.
- Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, resort assets, master keys, payroll, and employee records.
- Ensure implementation and completion of all Accounting Key Competencies, both management and hourly.
- Maintain compliance with Silverado Resort standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the resort.

- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in a resort or a related industry required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- Flexible hours sometimes required.
- The scope of the position may sometimes require a work week over 40 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Sedentary work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
