Position Overview

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, we are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Generate accurate accounting reports with proper support
• Prepare monthly account analysis to ensure accuracy in reporting
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
• Provide input into department's goal setting process
• Prepare financial statement workpapers for audits
• Ensure timely state, sales & use tax filings
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Liaise with colleagues, VP of Finance, and CFO to improve financial processes and procedures
• Coordinate and prepare for external, bank, and insurance audits
• Effectively supervise and motivate direct reports

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting & finance (MBA a plus)
• 4-6 years of experience in accounting
• Experience operating in a multi-organizational environment
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Awareness of business trends
• Hands-on experience with accounting software, ERP systems, QuickBooks, and T&E systems
• Advanced MS Excel skills including formulas, V-lookup, and pivot tables
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Superior organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and in a dynamic, high-energy, team-oriented environment
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft 365/Business Central (a plus)
• Industry knowledge a plus
